Are you an author of Christian-themed children's literature in search of a good illustrator? I would like to help you tell your story through vivid, colorful, and imaginative art. I work in a variety of media to satisfy a variety of individual tastes. Whether you are interested in the subtle blending effect of artstix or soft pastels, the stark contrast provided by black-and-white artwork using graphite, charcoal, or pen-and-ink, or the vibrant "pop-off-the-page" color of digital artwork, I can provide the rich, detailed illustrations to bring your story to life.
Quality artwork is so important to children's literature. Unfortunately, this has sometimes been overlooked by the Christian community. On a broadcast of Haven Today with Charles Morris (a world-wide Christian radio program, if you're unfamiliar), Mr. Morris interviewed Sally Lloyd-Jones (the author of the Christian children's books Jesus Storybook Bible and Thoughts To Make Your Heart Sing). The two had a discussion about the importance of Christian children's books having quality illustrations. Mr. Morris stated, "I'll be a little critical here again. Sometimes perhaps in the Christian community and in Christian publishing, we haven't really thought through that much making the artwork good [his emphasis]...it's almost slapdash, thrown together, "we've gotta meet a deadline.""
I don't point this out to denigrate any illustrator's work, but I do ask that YOU, as a Christian children's book author, prayerfully consider who you would have illustrate your work to help you advance the gospel and Christian themes. Please take a look at some of the illustrations on my site, and if you like what you see, I would be very happy to help you tell your story.

** updated ** I don't accept many book illustration commissions at this time due to the time required (I stay very busy with caricature-related work.). I am happy to discuss new projects, but now only work with authors who allow for a certain amount of illustrator creativity.
